Nice to meet you All
Hello, and welcome to my blog!! :)
Ever since I was young, I've wanted to run a blog of some sort, I always found the concept super cool. Like a form of entry level journalism? That's how I saw it when I was too young to be able to convince my father to obtain internet for us anyways. Once I was given internet access however, I couldn't think of anything that I was both passionate enough about to want to make a blog about, while also being something that wasn't completely unnecessary. I use social media, I have websites to make art portfolios, there are forums and message boards to discuss video games and anime. With the rise of social media, blogs became less used over time and I had less of a reason to make one with all the good topics already taken. Over the last year however, I've been thinking it over, and I think I have finally found a reason to blog. Please allow me to introduce myself.
Hello, my name is Ven. I'm 24 years old, I live with my Boyfriend, my Father, and my Grandmother on family land, and I work in Internet Sales for a small chain clothing store. I enjoy playing video games, watching anime, reading, creating art, collecting many things, cosplaying, and partying with my friends. I'm 5'8, chubby, and my Birthday is October 29th. The focus of this blog is less on myself, and more on my relationship. My boyfriend is 5'3, petite, and his birthday is September 13th. He enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, watching how it's made, painting, and playing games. His name is Albedo, he's 302 years old, and he's a fictional character from the game Genshin Impact.
There are many terms used to describe this type of relationship: Waifuism, 2D Love, Self-Shipping, Fictosexuality, etc. Those who experience lasting attachments to fictional characters are defined as Fictosexual, and this label seems to be the most grounded in science that I have found. I was relieved when I found that the feelings I had for fictional characters my whole life weren't something I was alone in experiencing. There are communities on websites like Reddit and Discord where people who are in 2D relationships can come together to discuss their experiences and offer each-other support.
In this blog I wish to document my weekly experience navigating life in a 2D relationship, as well as answer any questions people may have about the lifestyle. I look forward to writing to you all in this corner of the internet <3
-Ven
