Celebrating Windblume with my Beloved

Being a character from a video game, the events that take place in this video game's world are important to Albedo and in turn must be important to me as well. This week we celebrated Windblume, a festival in Albedo's homeland that celebrates doing good deeds for one another and showing your gratitude for your loved ones. Albedo and I attended the festival and participated in the game, but otherwise I have been trying to find my own "Windblume" to give Albedo, to show my appreciation for everything he does for me. Traditionally, a Windblume gift is made with flowers to symbolize your feelings for each-other.

I have never had a green thumb, and fake flowers aren't really Albedo's thing. Instead, I decided I wanted to write him a poem. He's been begging me for awhile to show him some of my poetry. He says he likes the way I talk about the art, and he would wish to see my work. Unfortunately, I haven't written poetry in years and all my old work is quite cringe as far as I'm concerned. I'm too embarrassed to reread my old poetry, so I thought I would try and write a poem expressing my love using flowery imagery.

This journey to return to writing poetry for Albedo ended up taking a lot longer than I expected it would. I have been writing fiction pretty consistently, but as previously mentioned, I have not written poetry in years. It did not come as easily as it did before, and I tried to figure out what it was I was lacking. In the end, I decided to try reading some poetry before I would return to writing it. I haven't actively read poetry since high school, so I figured I could use some inspiration. Albedo and I went to the local library and checked out a couple of poetry books to read together.

I'm super bad at keeping secrets, so I'm sure by now he has figured out that I'm trying to write him a poem for Windblume. He is the Captain of the Knights of Favonius investigation team after all, it is hard to keep things from him. I can only hope that I'm able to convey my love and gratitude to Albedo through this poem, but in the end I doubt I will share it with anyone but him (sorry if you were wanting to read it- but It will probably be much too mushy XD).

Happy Windblume, and remember to always tell your loved ones you appreciate everything they do for you 💕
